German JSPS Alumni Association

In 1995, former German JSPS fellows founded the “German JSPS Alumni Association” (commonly known as the JSPS Club); it was the first association of JSPS fellows anywhere in the world.

The association has more than 400 members from a wide range of academic fields. Full membership is open to all individuals who have received support from JSPS or the Science and Technology Agency (STA) in any form; this also includes Japanese Humboldt Fellows. Individuals who do not meet these criteria but are interested in German–Japanese academic exchange may join as associate members.
